This will be an index page to various personal stories about “Fulfilling the American Dream”:
My grandma was almost a teenager in 1904 when she overheard a couple guys talking about a story about the Wright Brother’s first flight. Her son got his aeronautical engineering degree in the 1930s. And both of her sons eventually worked on the project that put people on the moon. There are a few interesting stories about the family in the interim between these events.
Another story should be about a widow who worked as a manager of a rooming house who eventually bought that rooming house and ended up owing 40 units in 3 different buildings.
Several should be pulled from history like:
A couple about families who came over from Poland and Germany.
And the one about the Salem Witch trials should be referenced. And we should get the book on the subject if mom didn’t already.
This section of the site could be good for other contributors, also, or stories that we know about other people such as:
The little black kid in the ‘hood in Memphis who made himself useful wherever he could for a property management company who ended up being one of the richest dudes we knew there.
And I know a couple people who immigrated to the United States from Southeast Asia as refugees from the Vietnam War.
